Late 19th/early 20th century, blue underglaze maker's mark, inscribed ''Tanzende Bachantinnen'' and ''646 1 699'', the circular rim gilt-painted with scrolling foliage on a cobalt ground, centering a reserve painted with a young beauty and two attendants, within a pierced foliate giltwood frame, in a red velvet-lined shadow box, the plate approximately: .75'' H x 9.75'' Dia., est: $800/1200.

  • Condition: Overall: 18.625'' H x 18.625'' W x 3.25'' D. The plate in overall good condition; not examined outside of the frame. Two minute fleabites to ring foot. Giltwood frame previously re-gilt, with minor wear and a few minute losses commensurate with age. Minor scuffs and scratches to shadowbox frame.
