Henry Dietrich Gremke (1860-1939 San Francisco, CA)

  • Provenance: Tetris Enterprises, Modesto, CA; Private Collection, Los Gatos, CA
  • Notes: After the earthquake in 1906, Gremke did a series of paintings of the destruction. A specialist in watercolors and oils of the Sierra Nevada and highly detailed floral still lifes, he also painted murals for the stations of the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific railroads. Never married, Gremke lived at the family home at 544 38th Street in Oakland until his death on May 4th, 1939
  • Condition: Visual: Generally good condition. A few minor spots of surface grime. Blacklight: No evidence of restoration under blacklight.
