A Trinkkeller parcel-gilt wrought iron and glass occasional table

  • Notes: Gustave Edward ''Ed'' Trinkkeller was born in Germany and from an early age apprenticed to an ironsmith. After immigrating to the United States in 1890, he established his first shop in Los Angeles in 1896 and began accepting commissions for ornamental ironwork from Julia Morgan, William Randolph Hearst, Mrs. Edward L. Doheny, Harold Lloyd, and Will Rogers among many others. Examples of Trinkkeller's work can be seen at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, The Los Angeles Examiner Building, and Hearst Castle at San Simeon. He continued his career until 1942 and passed away in 1945 at the age of 73. A retrospective of Ed Trinkkeller's work was held at the San Francisco Craft & Folk Art Museum, August 16 - October 19, 1997
  • Condition: Top possibly replaced. Structurally sound. General marks, scratches, rubbing and dirt accumulation commensurate with age. Some bending to corners of top of base to secure glass, would benefit from repair. AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL
