  • Notes: Note: Sam Maloof re-introduced and re-interpreted his low back dining chair nearly 20 years after creating its original form. Maloof's 1952 version employed his first use of turned elements. The model offered here shows how Maloof's sculptor's sensibilities were further honed over two decades to create an even more graceful yet utilitarian form
  • Condition: Height of seat: 20'', width of seat: 18.5'', depth of seat: 16.5''. One chair (#40) of slightly larger proportions: 31.5'' x 22.5'' x 20'' (made to fit a sightly larger family member). Height of seat: 21'', width of seat: 18.5'', depth of seat: 16.5''. Numbered with incised Roman numerals I- XII, also with burned-in numbers 36 - 47. Variations to upholstery as the set was split between two family members. All structurally sound. Seats screwed in to frame. General marks, scratches, rubbing and wear commensurate with age. Some slight fading overall. Some with inherent cracking to timber along grain. #41 with cracking and buckling of veneer under seat. A few with some white marks. Upholstery in good, ready to use condition. With almost a quart of ''Sam Maloof'' oil/wax finish by Rockler. AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL
