Eighteen circa 1902 - 1907 (with maker's mark for directorship of Charles T. Cook), six knives with rubbed and now deficient marks, most likely circa 1902 - 1907, a set for twelve, the twelve dinner forks (8.125'') each marked ''Tiffany & Co. Sterling Pat. 1880'', each distinctly decorated and titled to back of handle, one with ''cat fish'', one with ''columbine'', one with ''grass'', one with ''hickory'', one with ''insects'', one with ''iris'', one with ''mountain laurel'', one with ''oak'', one with ''spruce'', one with ''stramonium'', one with ''senitive pea (sic)'' and one with ''thistle'', the twelve hollow handle silver plate bladed dinner knives (10.125'') each marked ''Tiffany & Co. / Makers / Sterling'' and decorated to handles with distinct motifs: koi, lobsters, mushrooms, owl and pine, roosters, runner beans, seahorses, wasps and four with variations of sea snails, each monogrammed ''HGW / VH'', 24 pieces , weighable sterling 32.82 oz troy approximately, est: $4000/6000.

  • Provenance: Property of Minerva Hamilton Hoyt, South Pasadena, CA
  • Condition: Overall good condition. General rubbing, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Heavier wear to blades; some with oxidation and wear to edges revealing base metal. Extensive wheel polishing and scattered minor dents to knife handles; some knife blades slightly bent. Weight does not include silver plate bladed articles. Monogrammed, as stated.
