Note: This lot accompanied by a letter from Dr. David Wegner, Ph.D., dated January 16th, 2017, outlining dye analysis and interpretation certifying indigo dye.

  • Provenance: Gifted to Mr. Albert Schmidt, the personal butler for Mrs. Randall Morgan of Chestnut Hill, PA, in the early 20th century; handed down by descent through the family to present owner
  • Notes: This lot accompanied by a letter from Dr. David Wegner, Ph.D., dated January 16th, 2017, outlining dye analysis and interpretation certifying indigo dye
  • Condition: Overall good condition with scattered spots of soiling and scattered small spots of older repair, the largest approximately 6.5'' x 1.5'' to brown stripe at one end. Size has been reduced. Selvedge edges and fringe have been re-woven.
