  • Notes: In the 1960s, Victor Vasarely, among other luminaries of Op Art, delved deep into the "scientific properties of color and line, and the ways in which the human eye processes information." Revered as the "Father of Op Art," Vasarely's visionary contributions resonated profoundly, shaping the very essence of the movement. From 1968 and onwards, Vasarely began some of his most famous work during the "Vega" period, where the "swellings induced by the deformation of the elements that make them up, translate forms that escape from the plane to create his spectacular volumes." A notable feature during the "Vega" period was that the cells would become "progressively thinner and smaller toward the edges of the work, as if they are receding into space." This work, alongside all other works during this period, takes its title from, Vega, the brightest star in the northern constellation of Lyra, and the fifth brightest star in the night sky. During this period, he seeks to "evoke the elusive universe of the galaxies, the cosmic pulsations and the biological mutation of the cell." Vasarely eloquently explains that the Vega composition "expresses the extension, the expansion of the Universe; the extreme of the great infinities of Nature."

Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others. Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
