Note: Inscribed on the frame lower center: ''Winner / Modern Garage Co. / Third Annual Goodyear Dealers Zeppelin Race / July-August 1931 / This frame is made of Duralumin used in girder construction of the United States Airship ''Akron'' / Built by the Goodyear Zeppelin Corporation''. The USS Akron operated for the U.S. Navy between September 1931 and April 1933. Along with its sister ship the USS Macon it still holds the world record for largest helium-filled airship ever built. The Akron was destroyed in a thunderstorm off the coast of New Jersey on the morning of April 4, 1933.

  • Condition: Visual: Generally good condition. Creases to the paper scattered throughout, including a line down the entire left side. A few small spots of paper loss lower center. The recto mat and back mat are glued together.
