  • Provenance: With Pietro Scarpa, Venice; acquired by Sullivan Goss, Ltd., Montecito, CA from the above, winter 2004; acquired by the present owner from the above, January 2005
  • Notes: According to a letter from Sullivan Goss, Ltd., the present work is reputed to be a study for a wooden sculpture in the church of San Sisto in Piacenza, Italy. This is the only known bronze casting of this sculpture, and may have been executed by Setti himself, commissioned for the private chapel of a patron of Setti's
  • Condition: Overall good condition. General marks, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. Repairs to the figure's left hand. The patina a black-green.
