Mary Chabre has been creating paintings and sculptures for over three decades. Her works, which include oil and acrylic paintings as well as painted and textured aluminum sculptures, are known for their joyous energy; however, more recently the mood has shifted occasionally to more surreal images. After earning her first BA degree in English and Education from USC, Mary pursued her passion for art by returning to UCI in 1996, where she graduated summa cum laude degree in Studio Art. Under the guidance of influential professors like Andrea Bowers, Mary honed her ability to convey conceptual intent through her artwork. Mary's career has been marked by solo exhibitions at UCI, Britta Gallery and Balboa Open Studios, along with participation in numerous group shows at Gallery 825, Royal College of Art, and Anderson Ranch. She also taught art in Orange County schools for over two decades and owned three art-related design companies.
Based in her studio on the Balboa Peninsula, Mary's artworks grace private collections across the United States, and she continues to create commissioned pieces.
