The Estate of Mario Armond Zamparelli, La Cañada, CA
  • Notes:
Mario Armond Zamparelli played a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of Trans World Airlines (TWA) during the golden age of commercial aviation. As the longtime Chief Executive Designer and confidant of Howard Hughes, Zamparelli was responsible for crafting the sleek, modern aesthetic that came to define TWA's advertising, branding, and in-flight experience throughout the 1950s and '60s. His visionary work combined glamour, innovation, and jet-age optimism, helping to position TWA as an emblem of luxury air travel. Zamparelli's designs remain iconic within the history of mid-century American commercial art.
  • Condition: Each overall generally good appearance. The three works without overmatting: with surface soiling, specks of grime, minor rippling, small pale stains, damp staining (presumably attendant with prior water damage), glue and tape remnants, and other lesser defects, mostly in places along the blank edges of the artist's board. The four works with overmatting: with occasional, unobtrusive surface soiling. Four works with overmatting, three works are loose, not matted.

    Each unframed

Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others. Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
