  • Notes: Bannarn was an important member of the Harlem Rennaissance whose contributions include sculpture and works in various painting mediums. In the 1930s he co-founded with friend and fellow artist Charles Alston the Alston-Bannarn Harlem Art Workshop, a central meeting place for aspiring writers, artists and intellectuals
