    Harold Frank was raised in the tenements of New York and exhibited a talent for drawing
    at an early age. After a stint in the army, he traveled to Paris to study and returned to New York
    in the 1950s. He attended the New York Art Students League, the National Academy of Design,
    Pratt Institute, Chouinard Art Institute and UCLA where he was a colleague of Richard
    Diebenkorn, who had a lasting influence on his work. Other artists who influenced him included
    Matisse, Rouault, Picasso and Willem de Kooning. He was shown internationally in London,
    Paris, Amsterdam and Aubonne, Switzerland, as well as throughout the United States from the 1960s through the 1980s.
  • Condition: Visual: Overall good appearance. Scattered areas of minor varnish discoloration. Small occasional areas of very fine craquelure. Two old white hinges are visible only along the extreme upper edge; they appear on the verso, barely peeking onto the recto. As mentioned, the sheet is tipped to a foam core board from places along the verso of the sheet edges and corners.

    Blacklight: No evidence of restoration.

    Framed without glazing: 25.25" H x 20.75" W x 2.5" D

Moran, in its sole discretion and as a courtesy to buyers, may arrange to have purchased lots packed, insured, and forwarded by a third-party shipper at the request, expense, and risk of the buyer. In circumstances where Moran arranges for such third-party services, Moran may apply an administration charge of 15% of that service fee. Moran assumes no responsibility for acts or omissions in such packing or shipping by other packers or carriers, even if recommended by Moran. Moran also assumes no responsibility for any damage to picture frames or to the glass therein.
