  • Notes: "To all who come to this place of Joy, Hope, and Friendship, welcome.

EPCOT is inspired by Walt Disney's creative vision. Here, human achievements are celebrated through imagination, wonders of enterprise, and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting benefits for all.

May EPCOT Center entertain, inform and inspire, and above all, may it instill a new sense of belief and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere."
    - EPCOT Dedication, 1982

Artists Eric Tan and Stacey Aoyama collaborated on this 40th anniversary collection, designing images that spark the imagination and ignite wonder and curiosity, the core of EPCOT's founding mission. Drawing on 40 years of EPCOT history, these energetic, bold images range from long-ago attractions such as Horizons and Universe of Energy, to previewing new experiences coming to the park in the years to come. This collection reflected the storied past of EPCOT and provided a taste of the road ahead. These works enliven the principles of Walt's dream of EPCOT: a celebration of culture and tradition, and a bright vision of the future; our place in a global community and our relation to the natural worlds around us.

Created in anticipation of EPCOT's 40th anniversary in 2022, the images first debuted at The Walt Disney Company's biannual convention D23 in 2019 to a ravenous audience reception. The Disney Parks and Resorts booth opened to the public with a finale in a dark room of large, blank panels, with new images revealed each day of the convention. As new attractions and experiences were unveiled in the Parks and Resorts panel on Sunday, the remaining blank images were turned around, revealing to attendees not in the panel what was on the horizon for EPCOT. When initially released to the public at the end of the convention, the special screenprints on metallic paper sold out instantly. These works proved so popular that another edition of prints was produced, which also sold out.

These artist proofs from the first edition of the EPCOT anniversary collection were screenprinted on metallic silver paper by Cyclops Print Works. Screenprinted attraction posters have a rich tradition in the history of the Disney theme parks, harkening to the opening of Disneyland in 1955. To honor that legacy this first edition was printed on the same machine type and in the same process as those original posters for Disneyland were. Each screenprint in this collection is hand numbered "AP" and out of an edition of 25 for each image.

is at the heart, of all creation
Right at the start, of everything that's new
One little spark, lights up for you"
    - One Little Spark, from Journey into Imagination
