    Accompanying this lot is the steel-bound book, "Zero Mass" (Propexus, Lund, Sweden, 320 p., 1990) by Eric Orr and James Lee Byers (1932-1997), signed and personally inscribed on the title page and dated on the last page: Thank you / Eric Orr / '91. A ball of fired clay by Byers entitled "The Sphere of Generosity" accompanies the steel-bound book, and both are housed together in their original Styrofoam and cardboard slipcase.

    This lot is accompanied by a sales invoice and certificate of authenticity from the artist's studio, and a 1990 pamphlet from The Works Gallery, Long Beach, CA.
  • Condition: Visual of painting: Overall good appearance. In raking light there are some scattered pinhead-sized, unobtrusive flecks of grime, mainly in the upper left quadrant and lower edge, and primarily visible in raking light

    Blacklight of painting: No evidence of restoration.

    Condition of slipcase contents: The book is in good condition overall, with some scattered finger marks and rust, especially on the spine. The fired clay ball appears to be in good condition.

    Original slipcase: 11.25" H x 11.75" W x 3.5" D (housing the book: 9.375" H x 7.125" W x 1.375" D; and the clay ball: 2.625" approx. dia.)

Moran, in its sole discretion and as a courtesy to buyers, may arrange to have purchased lots packed, insured, and forwarded by a third-party shipper at the request, expense, and risk of the buyer. In circumstances where Moran arranges for such third-party services, Moran may apply an administration charge of 15% of that service fee. Moran assumes no responsibility for acts or omissions in such packing or shipping by other packers or carriers, even if recommended by Moran. Moran also assumes no responsibility for any damage to picture frames or to the glass therein.
