  • Notes: This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity secured behind the frame's Plexiglas backing. Signed in ink by Evelyn Payne Hatcher, the daughter of Edgar Payne, and Dewitt C. McCall, the official representative of Payne's estate, it states that the work is an authentic drawing by the artist and was once part of his estate. The lot is also sold with an information sheet prepared by an anonymous source, previously attached to the frame's wire, which states that the photograph on the verso of this drawing was taken by the artist himself. This same sheet provided the provenance as outlined in our cataloguing.
  • Condition: Overall good condition. Not examined out of the frame.

Moran, in its sole discretion and as a courtesy to buyers, may arrange to have purchased lots packed, insured, and forwarded by a third-party shipper at the request, expense, and risk of the buyer. In circumstances where Moran arranges for such third-party services, Moran may apply an administration charge of 15% of that service fee. Moran assumes no responsibility for acts or omissions in such packing or shipping by other packers or carriers, even if recommended by Moran. Moran also assumes no responsibility for any damage to picture frames or to the glass therein.
