  • Notes:
The "S.B." inscription indicates that this work was likely printed at Atelier Richard Tullis, Santa Barbara, CA.

The American artist Charles "Chuck" Arnoldi was born in Ohio in 1946 and pursued his artistic studies at Ventura College, the Art Center in Los Angeles, and the Chouinard Art Institute. His works, often brightly colored, were composed either in paint on canvas or with wood pieces affixed to panel.

For much of his career, Arnoldi worked as an outsider within the context of the California art scene. Though his works are held in museum collections around the world, Arnoldi developed a unique style that remains antithetical to the dominant theme of minimalism that remains pervasive throughout the work of many artists working in California.
  • Condition: Overall good appearance. The full sheet with deckled edges. A slight cockle in the paper likely attendant with the materials and techniques used. Appears to be hinged to the back mat in places from the verso of the sheet edges. Not examined out of the frame.

    Framed under plexiglass: 37" H x 50.25" W x 1.5" D

Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others. Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
