2 pieces

  • Provenance: Notes: The first print was examined out of its frame. Since these two framed pieces came to us together, it seems reasonable to assume that the condition of the second, if unframed, would be similar to that of the first.
  • Condition: Each overall good condition. The first with full margins with deckled edges. A 1" diagonal crease through the image at right. Surface soiling showing near the outer edges of the margins and on the verso. A 1" vertical tear in the lower margin edge, at right, not affecting the plate, and with a related piece of white tape verso. Remains of old glue and paper along the extreme margin edges, verso. Hinged to overmat in two places at the verso of the upper margin edge. The second with three unobtrusive handling creases in the right margin, one of which affects the image very slightly. Two pinhead-sized foxmarks in the sky at left. Unexamined out of the frame.

    Each framed under glass: 29" H x 38" W x 1.25" D

Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others. Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
