Mid-19th century, with blue underglaze crossed swords mark, incised: No. 68 / 50, the movement stamped with maker's mark of Honore Pons: Pons medaille d'or / 1827, further stamped: 1041 / 313, the pedimented case surmounted by a seated putto holding a fruiting grapevine and painted throughout with floral sprays, birds and reserved with a scene of a courting couple, the circular clock face with Roman numeral hour markers, atop a rectangular base further surmounted by a standing female figure and a begging poodle, 15.25'' H x 12.25'' W x 6.5'' D, est: $6000/8000.

  • Condition: Overall good condition, with nicks and losses to applied grape vines and standing female figure's toes. Apparent restorations to female figure's right hand, foot, and pediment beneath figure's left arm; figure and poodle appear to have been reattached to base. Pediment with nicks and losses beneath figure. Nicks and repairs to enameled dial and outer aperture, the largest area approximately .5'' x .25''. Working condition unknown.
