Second half 19th century, the dial marked ''M son Marquis / Languereau / Paris'', the movement stamped ''Languereau / Paris'' within a circle, further stamped ''701'' and ''12'', the case stamped ''Y'' to the underside of each hoof, the circular housing surmounted by a crossed arrow-filled cornucopia and flaming torch over ribbon and floral-festoons, the curved circular glass door encasing the conforming white ceramic dial with applied Arabic numerals marking hours and five minute increments, with pierced scrolling hands, mounted to a waisted, draped case with bead molding bordering beveled clear glass inserts, over a shaped rectangular base centering portrait medallions, raised on four hoof feet, with key, the associated garniture comprising two seven-light candelabra, each with urn-form sockets over beaded circular drip pans, issuing from acanthus-clad scrolling arms spilling from a central urn, raised on a turned baluster standard, on a tripartite plinth with laurel garland edging, on bun feet, 3 pieces, the clock: 33.75'' H x 22'' W x 11'' D; each candelabrum: 31.5'' H x 15.75'' Dia., est: $40,000/60,000.

  • Condition: Lacking scattered points to gilt stars on clock face. Uneven oxidation to gilding. Works complete. One candelabra with one candlearm repaired; the other with two repaired. Moran's does not guarantee working condition of clocks.
