  • Provenance:
The Estate of Mario Armond Zamparelli, La Cañada, CA
  • Notes:
Zamparelli, discussing the rebrand and design: "What does this mean to you, the passenger? You become a part of the Hughes Airwest corporate image Zamparelli explains, "One's association with a bank ends at the balustrade. Involvement with an airline is total. It picks you up and carries you in the belly of the aircraft. You are a part of the corporate structure." Sundancer, the inflight magazine of the inaugural flight states: "In order to make the place where the "you" part meets the "corporate" part more comfortable, Zamparelli will cover the seats with a fabric that not only resists flames, stains, and snags, and is guaranteed never to sag, fade or wear out-but also is soft and smooth, a nice place to be-whether you're wearing hot pants or a business suit."
  • Condition: Each in overall good condition with dust accumulation, creasing, and ravelled edges commensurate with age and use. Some paper labels with creases and faint yellowing. Light oxidation to some staples. C & A fabric with more extensive dust accumulation.
