A group of Mario Armond Zamparelli (1921-2012) RKO Pictures artwork

A group of six mixed media illustrations on artist's board, one on thick, heavy paper, and one on paper mounted to artist's board
Subjects include a group of figures watching in horror, a man caught in the headlights of an approaching car, a man stopping a woman with a gun, sailors near a woman at the beach, a nude figural of a woman in profile, and a portrait of a woman with flowers behind her
One work signed "Zamparelli" and dated "1955" in pencil, directly below the image, at right; others unsigned and estate stamped verso; the work of the man caught in the headlight of an approaching car, with pencil work notations, presumably in the hand of the artist
Smallest image: 15" H x 12.25" W; Largest image: 9.75" H x 22.5" W; Smallest board: 14.5" H x 20.5" W; Largest board: 20" H x 30" W

  • Provenance:
The Estate of Mario Armond Zamparelli, La Cañada, CA
  • Condition: Each overall good/generally good appearance. Each work with some or all: minor surface soiling, handling creases, some with scattered staining, pale time staining, small tears or losses to the extreme blank edges and corners, as well as the verso, and other lesser defects. The portrait of the woman in front of flowers, with a "fingerprint" stain at the center of the lower edge of the image. The work of the man caught in the headlight of an approaching car, with a band of staining along the blank of the lower edge of both the recto and verso, as well as a band of old tape along the verso of the upper edge. The overmat of one of the works with staining, soiling, small losses, and creasing, all seemingly not affecting the work it's taped to. Each work is loose, one is taped to an overmat.

    Each unframed

Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others. Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
