A black brocade scarf
Brocade, black on black stylized floral design, with handwritten exhibition tag stating 'Maggie Williams, 3-PT' 30' W x 30' L

Provenance: The Collection of Mrs. Phyllis Twogood; by descent to Trudie Twogood Lyons; The Estate of Tammis Day, Sula, MT, acquired from the above.

Exhibitions: Ravalli County Museum, Hamilton, MT.

Notes: Accompanied by a note stating: "Black brocade scarf that belonged to Maggie Haines Williams. Maggie was a Nez Perce who married Colonel Williams".


  • Condition: The scarf is in overall good condition with normal signs of wear commensurate with age including runs in the fabric, tears, adhesive remnants, and pulling to the stitches along the border. The exhibition tag is stuck to the scarf and cannot be easily removed.
