Bobby has worked for John Moran Auctioneers since 2007.
Initially joining Moran’s as a part-time member of auction staff, Bobby has worked his way through various positions, including a full-time position as an art handler and as Assistant Fine Art Cataloguer. In 2012, Bobby became Moran’s lead Fine Art Cataloguer, which means he has a hand in nearly every auction that Moran’s conducts. His favorite part of the auction process is seeing all the art and objects finally incorporated and laid out for preview, and watching clients’ reactions to the ever-changing sale room.
Bobby’s daily responsibilities include inventory control as well as the review and cataloguing of all artwork. This includes examining each piece, remarking on condition, documenting provenance, and cross-referencing materials associated with the artworks. He also assists interested bidders with pre-auction inquiries and private previews. During our auctions, Bobby can be found running one of several online bidding platforms, acting as a telephone agent, or assisting with clients’ questions.
Bobby has a long history of customer service; prior to joining Moran’s, he worked for an outdoor retail shop as a manager.
A painting detective by day, Bobby is a super hero dad by night: In his off hours, Bobby enjoys spending quality time with his wife and young son.
