Comprising one terrestrial and a conforming celestial globe, each mounted on a calibrated brass northern polar hour circle, the celestial with a calibrated brass meridian ring, each horizon band with engraved paper calendar and zodiac, raised on a carved mahogany wood stand, 2 pieces
Globe: 18" Dia.; Overall: 45.5" H x 23.5" Dia.

  • Condition: Each with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, shrinkage cracks, indentations, and separation at joints commensurate with age. Issues include but not limited to: Each with inhibited motion of meridian/polar ring every 180 degrees. Each with cracks and scratches to polar areas. Each with scattered tears in the paper of horizon band. Terrestrial with three 3" long cracks radiating from arctic pole, with slight lifting, and discoloration/fading to equatorial areas. The celestial with scattered radial cracks, a 0.75" x 0.5" chipped loss near center, and two 9" long deep scratches at the bottom, with attendant wear. Three of the wood supports with repaired cracks.

Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Moran, in its sole discretion and as a courtesy to buyers, may arrange to have purchased lots packed, insured, and forwarded by a third-party shipper at the request, expense, and risk of the buyer. In circumstances where Moran arranges for such third-party services, Moran may apply an administration charge of 15% of that service fee. Moran assumes no responsibility for acts or omissions in such packing or shipping by other packers or carriers, even if recommended by Moran. Moran also assumes no responsibility for any damage to picture frames or to the glass therein.
