  • Provenance: Arte Papel Vista Hermosa, San Augustin Etla, Oaxaca
  • Notes: Taller Arte Papel Vista Hermosa is a paper mill located in San Agustin Etla. It was founded by Francisco Toledo in 1998 in a former hydroelectric plant. This paper workshop was a way to connect the local community with the ways of creating paper sustainably, with the use of renewable resources. Paper kites, jewelry, notebooks, and bags, were just some of the few paper items created at Taller Arte Papel Vista Hermosa. Funds raised at the workshop are used to reinvest in "reforestation, nurseries, and cultural and educational programs." Taller Arte Papel Vista Hermosa is an important space that aimed "to give back to the community and environment."
  • Condition: Overall good condition. Specks of occasional grime commensurate with age. The paper is slightly puckered down the center and across the middle due to the mounting process. Frame floating and mounted to the back mat. Not examined out of the frame.

    Framed under Plexiglas: 36.5" H x 30.75" W x 1.75" D

Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others. Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
