While later living in California and caring for her two children, she began making inlay jewelry that attracted a wide clientele. She returned to Zuni in 1992 and turned full time to jewelry making. Her work is collected internationally. The artist is actively involved in her tribal organizations and with various museum boards, and in conducting workshops She has also established the Leo Poblano Memorial mentorship Program in honor of her father."
"My work is given energy by my memories of my father and also by the special qualities of the gems and minerals I work with. They have a lot of energy in them, and that inspires me to put them where they belong."
