Personal Property Appraisal Services
Do you need a formal document that you can submit for probate, to your insurance company or the IRS? Moran’s team of USPAP-qualified appraisers can provide you with one of the following appraisal services:
Insurance: An appraisal for your insurance company which values pieces at their replacement value.
Donation: Planning to donate property to a private organization, charity or museum? You may need to submit an appraisal to the IRS if you are claiming a tax deduction of more than $5000.
Fair market: A Probate or Equitable distribution appraisal reflects what an item could sell for in an open market giving a willing buyer. Fair market appraisals are used in estate planning or by probate courts to settle estate distribution.
Appraisals generally start at $250 an hour with a two-hour minimum. Turnaround time will vary and depends on the size and complexity of the appraisal requested. After an initial review of the property, your appraiser will provide you with an approximate time frame and estimate of cost.
If we have done an appraisal for you in the past, we would be more than happy to update your appraisal at a reduced rate.
