John Moran Auctioneers Announces Fall 2015 Move to Monrovia, CA


ALTADENA, CA – John Moran Auctioneers is excited to announce their upcoming move from Altadena, CA, to a new, all-in-one auction, office and warehouse facility located at 145 East Walnut Avenue in Monrovia, CA.

John Moran founded his auction company in Pasadena in 1969 with only two employees; John Moran Auctioneers now employs two dozen full and part-time employees and hosts nearly monthly auction events. Today, Moran’s specializes in California and American fine art, jewelry, silver, Native American objects, European decorative arts and Mid-Century Modern design, with nearly a third of each auction selling online to collectors worldwide.

Provenance: Property of a Private Collection, Altadena, CA. Condition: Generally good condition. General scratches and wear, and minor rubbed wear to gilt decoration commensurate with age and use. A few pieces with slight inherent potting imperfections. One soup plate with a few inherent glaze imperfections to center. One dessert plate with a .5'' x .75'' chip and a .5'' x .125'' chip to top along rim. Two dessert plates with a hole drilled to foot for hanging wire, one of these with two .25'' x .125'' chips along top of rim, the other with a .25'' x .125'' chip and a .375'' x .0625'' chip along top of rim. One dinner plate with a .625'' x .125'' chip along top of rim. Two dinner plates with chips to foot. Three teacups with a minute chip to rim. One teacup with an overpainted restoration to rim. Two saucers with minor chips to foot. Two saucers with tight hairline cracks to underside.
