After Auguste Nicolas Cain, two patinated bronze covered urns, Late 19th/20th century, signed Cain (1822-1894, French), each with a shallow domed lid surmounted by a grape cluster finial over a tapering reeded body with branch-form handles to sides, decorated with creeping grape vines and grape clusters, with reserves to either side with further inscriptions ''Le Galant / en eut fait / Volontiers / un Repas'' and ''Ils sont trop verts / dit il / et bon pour / des / Goujats'', enclosing liners, suspended by rearing wolves on a circular base, variations, 2 pcs, est:$1500/2500
15.5'' H x 9.5'' W x 7.5'' D. Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, Los Angeles, CA. Condition: Variations to castings and quality of decoration and patina. Two of the same model. Good overall condition. Each with a dark brown patina to surface. General marks, nicks scratches and rubbing commensurate with age. Lid to one does not rest evenly. With some spotting to liners. Slight dirt accumulation overall. AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL
