Note: Lover's Cove in Monterey Bay hosted a multitude of attractions including a merry-go-round, bathhouse, Japanese tea house and glass-bottomed boats. These boats, first launched by Nathaniel Roscoe Sprague in 1880s, offered people a rare underwater glimpse of Monterey Bay. Glass-bottomed boats are depicted in the foreground here, identifiable by the swan neck bow and stern; Dated circa 1947-1952 by the California Surf Museum, Oceanside, CA; Artist's estate stamp verso signed by Pamela Della, Executor.
