After Charles R. Sykes bronze 'Spirit of Ecstasy', Signed ''Charles Sykes / No 29'', (Charles Robinson Sykes 1882-1942, British), 'Spirit of Ecstasy', with backswept arms and billowing drapery, on a variegated green marble and bronze socle, overall, est:$5000/7000
27.5'' H x 15'' W x 18'' D. Note: Charles R. Sykes was commissioned in 1910 to design this radiator mascot for Rolls Royce. He took his inspiration from the splendor and fluidity of the Nike of Samothrace which he visted often in the Louvre, Paris. Provenance: Property of a Private Collector, Lake Sherwood, CA. Condition: The bronze: 20.5'' x 14'' x 14.5''. Good condition overall. Nicely cast. With a medium brown patina to surface overall. With light marks, scratches and rubbing to surface overall. Some polish residue in crevices.
