Alfred Thompson Bricher (1837-1908 New York, NY), coastal view with distant sailboats under an atmospheric sky, est:$18,000/22,000
signed with conjoined initials lower right: A.T. Bricher, oil on canvas laid to board, 13.5'' x 19.25''. Provenance: Estate, Orange County, CA. Condition: Visual: Craquelure scattered throughout and there is a repaired 2'' tear to lower right corner intersecting the 'R' in the artist's signature. The 'R' of the signature appears enhanced. Frame abrasion along the edges. The tacking edges removed when canvas was mounted to board. Blacklight: Touch-up evident along the lower edge and on the tear in the lower right corner.
