signed lower left: R.G. Holdredge, oil on canvas laid to masonite and affixed to stretchers, 30'' x 50''. Provenance: Private Collection, Tecate, CA, acquired circa 1960s. Condition: Visual: Tacking edges removed when the painting was mounted to masonite. Frame abrasion and minor losses along the four edges. Five small nails in a vertical line down the center of the canvas corresponding with the center stretcher bar and a few other nails along the edges. A small area of surface abrasions in the upper center quadrant and along the right and lower edges. The original gilt gessoed frame with losses throughout and the upper left corner of the filet damaged with missing wood. Blacklight: A few minor scattered spots of touch-up throughout. Possible evidence of older restoration throughout the sky.
