unsigned, estate stamped verso, mixed media on cigar box lid, 6.5'' x 7.75''. Note: Accompanied by a letter dated May 21, 2008 and signed by Donald R. Otto Jr., nephew of the artist, confirming that this work comes from the estate of August Francois Pierre Gay. Provenance: Estate of the artist; by descent in the family to Donald R. Otto Jr., nephew of the artist. Condition: Visual: Generally good condition. Blacklight: No evidence of restoration under blacklight.
