Antique & Decorative Art Specialist

Maranda Blackwelder has been in the antique and fine art business since 1993.

For ten years prior to joining John Moran auctioneers, Maranda owned and operated an antique business in Pasadena, CA specializing in fine and decorative arts from the turn of the century to the 1950’s. Her store assisted in furnishing many notable homes in Southern California with rare or hard to find objects d’art.

Since 2003, Maranda has directed all of John Moran’s live auctions including the set up and display of both the fine and decorative sales. She has assisted as a liaison between many of the charitable partners we provide auction services to pro bono. Her daily activities include client relations, valuating incoming property, appraisal functions and cataloguing.

Maranda graduated from the University of California - Los Angeles with a degree in History/Art History. She has done post-baccalaureate study in interior architecture at UCLA.

Maranda is currently seeking her Uniform Standard in Professional Appraisal Practice by the Appraisal Foundation. Maranda is currently on the Board of Directors for Sierra Madre Community Nursery School where she has served for three years.

When not at work, she can be found gardening, crafting or playing with her 5 year old daughter.
